Possible paint scheme

Stearman came from the Boeing factory all silver. Once the airplanes arrived at the training facility, the Army painted theirs blue with yellow wings while the Navy airplanes were usually painted all yellow.  When the training activity was at it's highest level, the Navy didn't always have time to repaint the aircraft so some were only lettered and left silver.

A Stearman can be almost any combination of yellow, blue and silver and be historically accurate.  Some had mismatched wings and tail surfaces as components were replaced when damaged and not repainted.

Silver is a correct color and a little unique. A silver fuselage with yellow wings is also a possibility.

For several reasons, I've decided to keep the identity of the Bowman Stearman. Our plane will be N49778 and be a PT-17 but maybe with a Navy paint scheme.
