Since I haven't decided yet which engine I'll be using for the rebuilt aircraft but would like to sand blast and prime the engine mount along with the rest of the fuselage, I'll need to blast and paint the mounts for both.
The only Lycoming mount that I have was still being used to support the engine on the wrecked Stearman, which meant that I needed to remove the propeller, engine and everything firewall forward in order to remove the engine mount.
I had hoped to be able to use the propeller that was on the wrecked Stearman and even though one blade was badly bent it looked fixable to me. Unfortunately the inside of the hub was pitted with corrosion and is not airworthy.
